I call it “Middle Earth”

what can i say…. a very unseemily spectacular photo opportunity just so happened to take place directly in front of me, while I was holding my camera.

so glad I ventured into the fog this morning….as I often do.

i often think about… dream about really….  live FOR….. the possibilities that could occur while a winter sky hovers over a pacific marine layer… and the light that might happen while the sun reaches a mountain top directly in the middle of both weather systems.

after many fizzled foggy mornings in waiting… frequently mindful of looking over my shoulders for large furry cats prowling in the darkness and countless hours of bird chirping and sleepy eye rubbing… i saw it happen.

and just in time for a soon to be… gallery opening… how splendid.

here is some HD video of the event…. this sure will make a wonderful addition to the “12 moons over paradise” documentary I’m working on.

How lucky for you, or unfortunate…. depending on your perspective, that you get to see such a rare thing from the quiet cushion of your computer station.
